#MelaninMonday: Love Your Black Skin #1

share on:

Tone your skin, lighten your skin, brighten your skin, bleach your skin… those are terms black skinned people have had to listen to at some point.

Whoever needs you to alter your appearance to suit the popular description of what beauty is or should be is mediocre and shouldn’t even be your friend to start with.

The ‘Melanin’ in beautiful black skinned people is “a natural pigment that gives human skin, hair and eye their color. It also protects the skin against UV rays which other races have to perpetually deal with”.

Love your black skin. It’s there to protect you. No other race has a personal skin protector. Black does.
