Negotiations began before Christmas but they had stalled recently, sparking fears the two men may leave in the summer.

Claudio Ranieri urged the club to do all it can to keep Shakespeare, who has developed a close relationship with the Italian, and Walsh, who is credited with recruiting Leicester stars N’Golo Kante, Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez, was reportedly a target for Arsenal.
