Yinusa Yellow, the tricycle operator who allegedly abducted Ese Oruru, is currently cooling off at the police custody, the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Bisi Kolawole has reported.
The FPRO made the disclosure today, Wednesday at a news briefing held at the force headquarters in Abuja.
She said, “The tricycle operator is now in our custody,” adding that the girl would undergo a comprehensive physical examination.
The Nigeria Police Force also urged reporters to leave the family of Ese Oruru alone and allow them to heal.
In the meantime, the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase, on Wednesday, ordered the setting up of a panel of inquiry to unravel reasons behind the delay in the rescue of Ese for more than five months.
Bear in mind, Kolawole, had during a press conference in Abuja yesterday, confirmed that Ese’s father, Charles, had reported the matter to the police since August 2015.
The FPRO, however, stated that the delays were as a result of “bureaucratic processes.”
Ese’s abduction has caused condemnation and monumental outrage on social media and across the country, as it has even spurred a campaign known as #FreeEse.
