Explosions In Brussels – Multiple explosions have occurred in Brussels, Belgium , with at least 13 people reportedly dead.
The first 2 explosions occurred around 7am GMT at the Zaventem airport. About an hour later, more explosions were recorded at the Maalbeek metro station. Both explosion venues have been closed.
The attacks seem to be connected to the Paris attacks last year, as the attack’s main suspect, Salah Abdeslam, was arrested in Brussels just 4 days ago.
The Zaventem airport has been completely cleared, with Belgian media reporting that more bombs have been found at the airport.
“I was on a break and heard and felt a big explosion – we have from here a view over the departure hall and saw a plume of smoke come out,” Niels Caignau, a Swissport employee, told Flemish broadcaster VRT.
“The windows are completely shattered. People went outside in shock. It doesn’t look good.”
