The just concluded Tecno Own The Stage Season 1, witnessed the first ever Karaoke Reality Tv Show In Africa. The display saw Nigeria’s Shaapera own the stage with her strong vocals, great stage presence and a star’s charm.
Even fellow contestants had nothing short of praises for her.
The show began its first episode with Fifteen contestants over the course of thirteen weeks; with the last four competing to own the stage in the thirteenth and final episode.
Nigeria’s Sir Uti Nwachukwu and Miss Vimbai alternated hosting gigs culminating for the finals, this past Sunday.
The judges, for the entire duration of the show included M.I Abaga, President of Choc City with back-to-back hit makers like Ice Prince in his corner; Yemi Alade, one of Africa’s finest female artiste in looks and talent; and Bien Baraza of award-winning group Sauti Sol.

The delectable Shaapera knocked out Nandy from Tanzania to take home the star-prize of twenty-five thousand dollars, the equivalent of seven-point-five-million in Naira, a recording contract and a brand new Tecno Phantom 5.
Nandy’s win as first runner up served her a platter of fifteen-thousand dollars, a three-month internship with Chocolate City Music under the tutelage of Nigeria’s rap god himself MI.
Paschal representing Kenya, came in second. He took home a ten-thousand dollars prize-win and a brand new Tecno Phantom 5 also.
Sikin also from Kenya made it to the final four but was the first to get the cut. She got a brand-new Tecno Phantom 5 as reward.
The contestants favorite judge was M.I; Plus Kenya’s representatives Paschal and Sikin did look up to Bien-Aime (who is a fellow county-man as they) as an older brother during the entirety of show.
