Policewoman killed on her first day – A policewoman in the United States was shot and killed on her first day at work by an Army staff sergeant.
29-year old Ashley Guindon had joined the Prince William County Police Division only one day before she was fatally shot by 32-year old Ronald Hamilton.
Guindon had responded to a domestic violence call at the Hamilton home, and had been shot by Hamilton when she got there.
Two other officers were also injured in the incident, and Hamilton has been arrested and charged with murder of a law enforcement officer, first-degree murder charge, two counts of malicious assault and two counts of use of a firearm during a felony.
Dorothy Guindon, Ashley’s grandmother, said: “This is really a shock to us. Ashley was such a nice person.”
