Vice President Yemi Osinbajo held a closed doors meeting with several chieftains of the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the presidential villa.
It was gathered that the meeting, which commenced at about 11am today, took place inside one of the conference rooms of the Vice President’s Office in the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Those in attendance include a leader of the party; Asiwaju Bola Tinubu; former Vice President Atiku Abubakar; the party’s National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun; President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki; Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yusuf Lasun; Senate Leader, Ali Ndume; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal; and a former interim chairman of the party, Chief Bisi Akande, among others.
The subject of discussion at the meeting remained unknown, however, Sahara Reporters tweeted that the APC Prominent men were pleading with the Vice President to save the Senate President from his trial with the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT.
The meeting ended at about 2.40pm.
Bear in mind, President Muhammadu Buhari is currently on a one-week official visit to Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
