Barbados, in the eastern Caribbean, is an independent island nation within the British Commonwealth. Its capital city is called Bridgetown and this beautiful island is surrounded by the Atlantic ocean.
The name ‘Barbados’ is derived from the Bearded Fig Trees once found in abundance on the island.

#3 The people of Barbados have a history of long ingrained Christian principles, a sound and free educational system with a literacy rate of 97%.
#4 Barbados has pure drinking water and was the first Caribbean island to have piped water it also hosts an excellent telecommunications systems.
#5 Barbados main export is sugar. However, over the years, tourism has overtaken this as the main revenue earner.
#6 Barbados is home to American pop-singer, Rihanna. She is a native of its capital state, Bridgetown.
