Miss Nancy Dickson, the kidnapped younger sister of Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, has been freed after spending over two months in the hands of her abductors.

This is contained in a statement issued today, February 29, by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Daniel Iworiso-Markson.

He said: “some of the kidnappers took to their heels while others were apprehended following a tip off on their hideouts.”

It was gathered that the 26-year-old, last child of the Dicksons who was seized at her shop on Okaka Road, Yenagoa, by unknown gunmen who reportedly drove in an ash Lexus Jeep was rescued on Sunday evening without any payment of ransom.

Confirming the incident, a senior officer of the Bayelsa State Government said an official statement would be released soon.

However, the spokesman for Bayelsa State Police Command, Asinim Butswat, said the command had not been fully briefed on the release.
