An infamous German cannibal has given an extraordinary account with graphic detail of how he killed and ate his gay lover ‘with his permission’, Daily Mail reports.
The 42-year-old computer engineer from Rotenburg, Germany, Armin Meiwes became one of the most infamous cannibals in history after killing and consuming 43-year-old computer technician Bernd Brandes in 2001.
Meiwes, better known as as Der Metzgermeister (the Master Butcher), in March 2001, posted an advert on the internet. He was looking for a “young, well-built man who wanted to be eaten”.
The pair met after Brandes posted an advert online entitled ‘Dinner – or your dinner’ and offering ‘the chance to eat me alive’.
Now, a new documentary titled Docs: Interview with a Cannibal has been granted unique access to the man who became the first person in Germany to be charged with “murder for sexual satisfaction”, or “love cannibalism”.
In an interview from prison, Meiwes describes the moment Brandes stepped off the train.
“I was nervous and excited,” he says.
Speaking further, Meiwes said: ‘I decorated the table with nice candles.’
‘I took out my best dinner service, and fried and piece of rump steak – a piece from his back – made what I call princess potatoes, and sprouts.’
‘After I prepared my meal, I ate it.
‘The first bite was, of course, very strange. It was a feeling I can’t really describe. I’d spent over 40 years longing for it, dreaming about it.
‘And now I was getting the feeling that I was actually achieving this perfect inner connection through his flesh. The flesh tastes like pork but stronger.’
Before he killed him, however, Meiwes said Brandes took sleeping tablets and drank schnapps before cutting off Brandes’s penis. They then ate it together, he says.
One thing led to another and Brandes took a bath while Meiwes read him a Star Trek novel before eventually stabbing him in the neck to kill him.
He cut him into pieces, buried his head in the garden and the rest he put in the freezer, eating further body parts over the course of the next 10 months. And he filmed it all, but documentary makers have decided not to include that part.
He was arrested in December 2002 by the police in an isolated farm house following a tip-off from a young Austrian student who believed the man living there had killed and eaten someone.
