#TECNOOwnTheStage : Where is UTI? The Question On Our Lips

share on:

The #TECNOOwnTheStage karaoke competition seems to be throwing up more controversies as the days go by. From the rivalry between Nigeria and Kenya representatives which seems to have spurned a twitter war with the hashtags #NigeriansOwnThestage and #KenyansOwnThestage to the glaring support provided by judges on the competition to respective contestants from their countries, the #TECNOOwnTheStage has sure had a lot of drama.

What a lot of the audience and viewers perhaps have paid little attention to is the fact that the first five episodes of the show was hosted by Uti Nwachukwu. The winner of the Big brother Africa 5 show is Nigerian and by all means gave a good account of himself while he held sway as host of the #TECNOOwnTheStage karaoke competition.

In what however appeared as a move to bolster the show, a co-host was brought into the show in the person of Vimbai Mutinhiri. The model and television host who also happens to be an ex Big Brother Africa star has since hosted the show alone from the seventh episode. This apparent change in hosts from the Nigerian -Uti to the Zimbabwean -Vimbai raises concern as to the favouritism on the show for eastern and southern African participants.

Uti did a magnificent job as host and this fact can be attested to. The question that everyone is however begging to know is, where is Uti? Is he going to make a comeback to the show? Or has he been permanently laid off the show?
