#TECNOOwnTheStage Review: The Genesis Of The Nigeria VS Kenya Spat

share on:

The rivalry in the #TECNOOwnTheStage karaoke competition became even more evident in the 9th episode of the show as representatives of Nigeria and Kenya went on a musical battle to exert their superiority. The musical battle between Nigeria and Kenya was made even more evident when the two front -running contestants representing both countries squared up against each other. Nigeria’s delectable Shapeera squared off against the handsome Kenyan, Pascal.

The duo performed the 2013 Nico and Vince hit song ‘am I wrong’ in the face up against one another which had everyone craving for more.

The battle however crept to social media as the judges appeared to be taking sides with contestants from their countries. Yemi Alade seemed to have courted trouble with her tweet in which she referred to the musical prowess of Nigerians.

Not one to leave things lying low, Bien responded by tweeting his thoughts which were apparently in support of his country .

Then the twitter frenzy began with citizens of both countries taking swipes at each other using the harshtag #NigeriansOwnThestage and #KenyansOwnThestage.

The 10th episode promises to be be full of excitement as there is only one Nigerian contestant left in the run for the $25,000 cash prize and recording contract. Do Nigerians really own the stage? It appears the Kenyans are winning the Twitter battle. Shapeera has three Kenyans and one Tanzanian to contest with. Can she make it all the way to show the Kenyans that #NigeriansOwnThestage or will Pascal show the world that #KenyansOwnThestage?
