A statue of Jesus Christ, believed to be the biggest of its kind in the entire African continent, has been unveiled in Imo state, Nigeria.

Named “Jesus De Greatest”, the nine-metre tall statue was carved from marble, and depicts Jesus standing with wtih his arms outstretched.

The statue is located in Abajah village in the South-Eastern state, and was commissioned by a local businessman, Obinna Onuoha. The statue was carved by a Chinese company, and placed in a church belonging to Onuoha.

43-year old Onuoha didn’t reveal the cost of production of making the statue, and planned the unveiling to coincide with the 50th anniversary of his parent’s wedding.
