Kompany Safe After Plane Skidded Off Tarmac

Vincent Kompany has escaped unhurt after a private plane carrying the captain skidded off the track.

Kompany watched the win over Norwich from the sidelines with injury, and went on a separate plane to Manchester.

Only for the plane to skid off the tarmac and come to a halt on the grass.

“It was at a fairly low speed of its departure, at which point it veered off the runway, for reasons for which we have some guesses,” Phil Brockwell of Centreline Air told the Eastern Daily Press.

Nobody on board, including Kompany, his staff and the plan’s crew, was injured in the incident.

The airport was closed for several hours, however, delaying City’s return flight to Manchester after they had comfortably seen off the Canaries 3-0 thanks to goals from Sergio Aguero, Kelechi Iheanacho and Kevin De Bruyne.
