Former Arsenal, Liverpool and Birmngham player Jermaine Pennant admits he got fed up of waiting for English clubs to offer him a contract.
He has agreed a one-year deal to play for Singapore’s Tampines Rovers and has become the S-League’s highest paid player.
Pennant said: “There’s only so long you can wait and clubs in the Premier League, the Championship and Wigan (Pennant’s former club) all had a chance to snap me up on a free.
“They weren’t knocking on my door like Tampines were. I want to prolong my career and play as long as possible so when that opportunity came I took it with both hands.”
