Oba Odugade, who was born on April 14, 1914, became the Olubadan in July 2007.

He was the 17th Olubadan since the title was elevated from Baale Ibadan to the Olubadan in 1930.

The first traditional ruler to bear the new title was Oba Okunola Abass, who reigned from 1930-1946.

The Olubadan, which simply means “Lord of Ibadan”, is the royal title of the king of Ibadan land in Oyo state.

Meanwhile, the Personal Assistant to the late monarch, Chief Isiaka Akinpelu, however, denied the death, saying his principal was hale and hearty.
