BREAKING: Olisa Metuh Dragged Back To Prison After Court Granted Him N400m Bail

The National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Olisa Metuh, was taken back to prison shortly after he was granted bail in the sum of N400 million by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Tuesday, January 19, 2015.

According to The Punch Newspaper, Metuh, who was produced in court in handcuff for the bail hearing on Tuesday, is to remain in prison till when he meets the bail conditions.

During the ruling this afternoon, trial Justice Okon Abang ordered Metuh to produce two sureties who must deposit the sum of N200m each.

The court maintained that the sureties must not only be residents in Abuja, but also owners of landed ‎properties within the Maitama district of the FCT.

Metuh was led to a waiting pick-up van and he was locked up at the rear cabin of the vehicle by the prison officials after the court delivered its ruling.

The vehicle with registration number PS 682 AA and with inscription, Kuje Prison, FCT Command, Abuja, was driven off from the court premises at exactly 4:10pm.

Metuh, who was arrested by the EFCC on January 5 and remained in the custody of the anti-graft agency till when he was arraigned on January 15, is answering a seven-count criminal charge that was preferred against him by the ‎anti-graft agency.
