How Saraki Reacted To Alleged Missing 2016 Budget After Private Meeting With Buhari

Strong indications emerged earlier today that the 2016 budget proposal submitted to the National Assembly by President Muhammadu Buhari had gone missing.

saraki and buhariSenate President, Bukola Saraki, after a brief behind closed-doors meeting with President Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Tuesday, January 12, declined to speak to journalists on the allegedly missing 2016 Budget proposal.

The Nation reports that when asked a question on the budget, Saraki exclaimed “Ha, ha, ha,” and jumped into his vehicle. The vehicle immediately left the Presidential Villa.

It would be recalled, Buhari had on 22nd, December, 2015 presented the budget proposal to the joint session of the National Assembly.

The National Assembly is expected to begin work on the Budget proposal today.

However, it was learnt today, January 12, that some senators disclosed to correspondent of Daily Trust that the disappearance of the budget was announced by the Senate Leader Ali Ndume during the closed door session.
