Louis Van Gaal may have saved his job for just another week at Manchester United following a draw against Chelsea but you get the feeling that his days at Old Trafford are numbered.

While Van Gaal would almost certainly leave Manchester United with a tarnished reputation, the Dutchman might not suffer the ignominy of being fired by the Manchester club. According to reports, Louis Van Gaal who is still held in high regards in the Netherlands might be returning to a position with the Dutch national team as it was revealed by Danny Blind, father of Manchester United player, Daley Blind and head coach of Les Orange. According to reports from The Netherlands, The Orange boys are currently looking for a technical adviser and Van Gaal is top on their list. Van Gaal famously led the Netherlands to a third place finish in the World Cup via a 5-1 victory over defending champions Spain in their opening game. Netherlands could however not continue the momentum and failed to qualify for the Euros. With Netherlands on the brink, Guus Hiddink was fired and Blind was brought in and now, the Dutch are looking to bring in the struggling manager.

Van Gaal on his part is adamant that he would not be resigning as manager of Manchester United despite the unwavering pressure he is under. He might however contemplate the Netherlands job as a platform to take him to his 2017 retirement date
