FIFA’s immediate past president, Sepp Blatter who yesterday was banned from all football related activities for eight years has been dealt further disgrace as his honorary degree in arts and humanities has been rescinded.
Leicester’s De Montfort University awarded Sepp Baltter a degree in arts and humanities in 2005 describing the then FIFA president as ” forthright, a visionary, ethical and, above all, a professional.” The award was in honor of the humanitarian work done by FIFA during Blatter’s tenure as president. However following the crisis that rocked FIFA this year and an investigation into Blatter that was closely monitored by De Montfort University, the administrator was stripped of this degree.

One might be tempted to state that it cannot get worse for Blatter, but then, that would be tempting fate.
