Manchester City and Leicester City, the highest goa scoring clubs in the league this season played out a goalless draw at the king power Stadium.
In what turned out to be an entertaining fixture, Manchester City and Leicester City came out to do damage to each other but it was Manchester City who dominated the earlier exchange with Aguero and Sterling both working Schmeichel. Leicester City grew into the game, catching Manchester City with their quick break away style of football as Toure and Inler battled for dominance of the midfield. A mistake by Fernandinho almost let Vardy through but the prolific Englishman fired over the bar from just inside the box. Leicester City dominated the second half and Manchester City looked to catch Ranieri’s men on the counter and Aguero had a penalty shout ignored by the referee. Iheanacho came in later in the game but could not make a decisive contribution.
The draw today means that Arsenal will end the year top of the league on goal difference and Leicester City, level on points with Arsenal but behind on goal difference. Manchester City would end the year third.
