Forte Oil fined for fuel hoarding
A Forte Oil filling station in Kano state has been fined N4.2 million by the state government for fuel related offences.
The station was found guilty by a committee set up by governor Abdullahi Ganduje, and were fined for both hoarding of the product and selling above pump price at night.
According to the committee’s chairman, state commissioner for commerce, Rabiu Bako, the fine for their offences was doubling the official pump price of their existing product.
After calculating the fine due based on the amount of fuel found in the station, the committee arrived at a fine of N4.2 million.
A fuel scarcity has befallen the country nation-wide for over 2 months now, with business and households suffering from the unavailability of petrol.
