Manchester United should forget about trying to sign lifelong Tottenham fan and striker Harry Kane, according to Danny Murphy.
The former Spurs and Liverpool midfielder believes Kane’s long-term future lies at White Hart Lane and has urged the north London club to do everything they can to ensure he stays.
“I don’t think Harry Kane will be going anywhere, ever,” Murphy told talkSPORT. “If Spurs keep progressing, he could be the player they build the team around. They could break the wage structure for him.
“If they sell Harry Kane in the next couple of years, could you imagine the uproar?
“If they sell him, they might as well give up. What’s the point if you can’t keep Harry Kane?”
