BREAKING: Hiddink Replaces Mourinho As Interim Manager Of Chelsea

Its official! Former Netherlands boss Guus Hiddink has on Saturday, December 19, been appointed interim Chelsea manager until the end of the season following the sacking of Jose Mourinho.

qnxpahvuso6mdlborye1_guus-hiddink-australia.jpg.jpegThe experienced Dutch coach, 69, succeeds Jose Mourinho, who was sacked on Thursday, and returns to a role he previously performed in 2009, when he led Chelsea to glory in the FA Cup.

“I am excited to return to Stamford Bridge,” Hiddink said in a statement on the Chelsea website.

“Chelsea is one of the biggest clubs in the world, but is not where it should be at the moment. However, I am sure we can all turn this season around.

Hiddink watched Saturday’s visit of Sunderland from the stands, sat next to Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich and former Blues striker Didier Drogba.

Coaches Steve Holland and Eddie Newton were in charge of the team for the game against the Black Cats.
