Michel Platini Resigns As President Of UEFA

In news that has rocked the footballing world to its core today, FIFA president, Sepp Baltter and UEFA president, Michel Platini have been banned from all football-related activities for eight years by the independent ethics committee put together by FIFA.

Blatter and Platini were both suspended by FIFA and UEFA pending the results of an investigation after allegations were made over a payment of over one million pounds by FIFA, authorized by Blatter to Platini. An independent committee was put together by FIFA and both football administrators were investigated and found guilty. The independent committee then decided on banning Platini and Blatter for eight years from all football-related activities.

Representatives of both Blatter and Platini have stated that they would contest the decision in the court of arbitration for sports.
