25-year old Nordtveit’s contract expires at the end of the season, with Gladbach reportedly interested in signing him to a new deal.
Arsenal have reportedly agreed a fee with Basel for Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Elneny, reports the Daily Mirror.
It is suggested that all that remains for Arsenal to do is agree personal terms with the 23-year-old and for the player to complete a medical.
The deal could be announced within days of transfer window reopening.
Arsenal will launch a £33m bid for Sevilla midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak, according to The Sun.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is thought to have been tracking the tough-tackling Poland international for more than a year and reports suggest the Frenchman is now ready to make a move.
