Former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki, has a mountain of task to undertake before getting any form of bail.
During the first ever maiden Presidential Media Chat of President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday night, December 30, one of the interviewers had called the attention of the president to the fact that Dasuki, and the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, among others granted bail by the courts, were being denied bail by the federal government.
Reacting to the question thrown to him from Ibanga Isine, Buhari said many Nigerians were yet to understand the “gravity of the crimes these people committed”.
He said: “A former president wrote to the Central Bank Governor and asked him to give this man N40billion.
“You want such person to get bail to go see a doctor in London. What kind of country do you think we are running?
“Go and tell that to the 2 million IDPs in North-East.
“The case remains in court and we are providing more evidences.”
Meanwhile, Dasuki, was on Tuesday, December 29, rearrested by the DSS after his freedom from Kuje prisons following his fulfillment of bail conditions offered him, because he was on remand warrant of a Chief Magistrate’s Court.
