4 Photos Shot By TY Bello That Captured 2015

share on:

TY Bello – photographer, singer, mother – is exceptional with her photography and this year being election year, captured some powerful shots.

Some of those shots might have helped doused tension by projecting an image of peace during the elections, while another might have eased tension in creating funny memes. Check them below.

Buhari vs Jonathan

After the elections in mid-2015 when tempers were high and patience was scarce, a photo of former President Jonathan and the incoming President Buhari holding hands at Aso Rock showed their supporters that the election was not a do or die affair.

The photo went viral with do-gooders preaching endlessly citing the picture as an example.

The Cap-Fixing Meme

The below photo of former President Olusegun Obasanjo and Earnest Shonekan fixing their caps during the inauguration of President Muhammadu Buhari went viral as it looks like the duo were holding their heads lamenting. The photo quickly went viral as a meme.

The Sleeping Mugabe

The 91-year old Zimbabwean President, Robert Mugabe is well known for dozing off in the middle of briefings, etc in his native country. It was however fun to catch him in the act on Nigerian soil, at a Presidential inauguration at that! No need to say that this spun a lot of memes.

The Obasanjo Portrait

TY Bello shot a portrait for President Obasanjo which was used in the cover of his one-sided, tell-all biography, My Watch. The book was so controversial and was outlawed by the previous administration which banned it, and tried to criminalize the book launch with a court order. Definitely one of the most controversial books from Nigeria.
