Pablo Zabaleta is closing in on a return from his injury and hopes to be fit for the upcoming City clash against Liverpool.
Zabaleta has missed seven matches for city this season after he was brought off against Newcastle with a knee injury.
And the defender has revealed he is hoping to be available to start for Manchester City in the crunch tie.
“I am doing OK, progressing well and trying to be fit for the visit of Liverpool after the international break. We’ll see how it goes in the next week or so,” he said.
“At the moment the plan is to re-join the rest of the team next Monday so hopefully everything will go well and I’ll be available for our next game.”
