Sean Connery’s wife faces jail time
The wife of legendary actor Sean Connery, Micheline Roquebrune, faces jail time after being asked to stand trial by a Spanish court.
The trial is over the 1999 sale of the couple’s Casa Malibu home in the Costa del Sol resort.
Connery was initially investigated but was dropped from the suit, but wife Micheline has been informed of the decision, and will have to hire a lawyer.
Micheline allegedly played a part in defrauding Spain of £5.5million by formalizing “fictitious legal transactions” to hide profits from the Casa Malibu sale, according to state prosecutors.
Micheline faces 2 and a half years in jail and a fine of more than £16million if found guilty.
