Roma are keen to make goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny’s stay at the Stadio Olimpico permanent, according to the club’s sporting director Walter Sabatini.
Wojciech Szczesny joined the Serie A club on a season-long loan from Arsenal in the summer but the Poland international has already stated his intention to return to the Emirates Stadium next season.
However, Sabatini has revealed Roma want the 25-year-old to stay in the Italian capital beyond the end of the current season even though striking a deal with Arsenal may be difficult.
“We are working on it and would like to keep Szczesny, but knowing Arsenal it will be difficult to achieve that,” the former Giallorossi midfielder told reporters. “In any case, Roma are already covered in that role for next season. Who did we get? I would never tell you that!”
