Robert Lewandoski and Arjen Robben fall out
Bayern Munich duo Robert Lewandowski and Arjen Robben are said to have fallen out over the Dutch man’s reluctance to pass the ball.
Lewandowski, who has scored 19 goals in 17 appearances for the German side this season, had expressed his frustration to Robben on the field during their league match against Stuttgart.
Asked by newspaper Sport Bild about the incident, the Polish marksman said, “I won’t comment on it. You’ve all seen it.”
Robben seemed to draw positives from the incident, saying: That happens sometimes vice versa. In the first half were a few situations where he can play different. We need to remain critical with each other. This ambition is good.”
“There were a few situations in the first half where he could have passed the ball too,” he added.
Coach Josep Guardiola didn’t see too much into the incident, joking that there wasn’t much he could do at this stage.
“That’s Arjen Robben — his mentality,” he said, before joking: “I am a good coach, but not good enough to change Arjen Robben’s mentality at 31 years old.”
