Neymar is closing in on a new deal at Barcelona which will tie him to the Camp Nou club until the summer of 2021, reports Marca.
The Brazilian forward has been in scintillating form this season and Barca have sought to reward him, and fend off any possible suitors, by tying him down to a new and improved deal.
Under the terms of his proposed new contract, Neymar will earn €15m after tax each season. This means that he will become the world’s third highest-paid player, after his Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Barca, meanwhile, will increase his €180m buyout clause, but the player’s camp do not want them to set it beyond €250m.
The Spanish champions are willing to go all out to ensure they keep hold of Neymar and the Brazilian is not contemplating leaving, even though his father recently stated that tax issues could force the forward to leave the club.
