500 Nigerians Deported From The UK
The chartered flight, took off from London Stansted airport via a private charter company, Titan Airways.
It was confirmed that the flight, was scheduled to depart from the United Kingdom on Tuesday, November 24, at about 10.30pm – Nigerian time – to land in Lagos on Wednesday, November 25 at about 6.00am.
It was learnt that the deportees were not happy to be back and those who did not have relatives in Lagos are currently stranded in the airport.
On landing, one of the deportees stated that he was arrested by British police and was not allowed to even take his belongings before being deported.
Recently, Nigerian government expressed concern over UK’s plan to deport 29,000 Nigerians, and has insisted that due process be followed before Nigerians are removed from the UK.
