Chelsea defender Gary Cahill has said Chelsea re looking to continue in their current vein of form against Tottenham.

Chelsea followed the 1-0 premier league win over Norwich, with a 4-0 win over Maccabi Tel Aviv.

And Cahill say, Chelsea wants to continue in that momentum when they meet Tottenham in the London derby.

“It was [important to beat Maccabi] for a number of reasons,” the England international told ChelseaTV.

“First and foremost, the most important one was for the Champions League and to make sure we put ourselves in a position to try to qualify top.

“But as well as to build to momentum off the back of the Norwich result and keep building these wins and try to gather these wins to turn this around. It was important for a lot of reasons and very pleasing.

“We’ve got this week to prepare for the Tottenham game.

“They’re playing very well at the minute. I’ve no doubt it’ll be an entertaining game and one where we’re hoping to be on the end of the right result.”

Tottenham will have two fewer days to prepare for the match due to Thursday’s tricky Europa League clash against Qarabag in Azerbaijan, but a win against the Blues would see Spurs move 13 points clear of Jose Mourinho’s side in the table.
