Strong indications have emerged that about 105 gallant troops of the Nigerian Army are missing in Borno state after gun fire battle with the militant islamic sect, Boko Haram.
According to report gathered, an intense attack from Boko Haram insurgents at Gudunbali, Borno State, on Wednesday resulted in the 157 Battalion of the Nigerian Army not being able to account for at least, 105 soldiers including their commanding officer.
In a telephone chat with the Army spokesman, Col. Sani Usman to confirm the incident, he noted he cannot comment on the unfortunate incident for now, but that the Theatre Commander, Maj.-Gen. Yushau Abubakar, who has more details will be addressing the press on the development any moment from now.
He, however, did not deny the incident and did not make further comment.
Meanwhile, Nigerians are now reacting, calling on the government to act swiftly on the case of the missing soldiers.
