Here’s something written by my best friend and a manager Mina Ciric from Serbia. She is the one that sits next to her computer all night and writes emails to many many different people
When I was drinking my morning coffee, almost three years ago, a young man, a little bit confused came up to me and asked me how to get to the Saddleback College. I didn’t know back then that one day I will talk and write about him. Since then, my friendship with Gojko Lojpur started.
This 23 years-old model from Serbia, a small country in East Europe, proved that with a lot of hard word american dream is really possible. Gojko impressed me, above all, with his confident attitude and the desire to succeed, regardless how hard and difficult things can be.
Step by step, his talents discovered by fashion photographers, many companies and by talent agency Impression Entertainment Group from Los Angeles.
He left me speechless when he cooked me Sarma, Serbian national meal made with cabbage and minced meat. How delicious! You really must try it!
Once, when he was dancing folklor (Serbian traditional dance) and he was wearing his Serbian national costume that made him feel close to his home, a little neighbor’s daughter saw him and she laughed at his outfit, especially at his wool socks and his unusual footwear – opanci.
“What is that on your feet, mister?” the girl asked.
Gojko explained her that grannies in Serbia knit those socks for their grandchildren so they warm their feet during the cold winters. The girl found so hilarious that the socks are made of sheepskin.
“Our neighbor is wearing a sheep on his feet and his shoes look like elephant’s trunk!!” she told to her father.
Gojko is very communicative person and he likes making new friends everywhere and he just love to be loved by people. You must fight for yours dreams like him, nothing is impossible, if you can dream it, you can do it!
This hard working boy is just at the beginning of his promising career, but I know that we will see much more of him in the time to come. And maybe we will also see and hear about his delicious sarmas and traditional Serbian socks…
