41 dead in South Sudan plane crash
South Sudanese government officials have confirmed a plane crash at the country’s Juba International Airport.
Over 40 people in the plane and on the ground were said to have died after the plane crashed shortly after takeoff.
20 people were reportedly on board the Russian-built cargo plane, but according to presidential spokesman Ateny Wek Ateny, a crew member and a child survived the incident.
According to the director of Juba International Airport however, 3 people survived the crash.
The plane was said to be heading for the Paloch oil fields in Upper Nile state.
