Xavi: I Could Have Moved To Manchester United

FC Barcelona legend and Al Sadd midfielder, Xavi Hernandez recently revealed his affinity for the premier league and Manchester United in particular claiming he might have been interested in a move there at some point.

Xavi left Barcelona at the end of last season amidst plenty fanfare with a legendary status and went on to join AL Sadd. But in a recent interview he revealed that he was always attracted to the premier league  “To be honest, the Premier League is a big attraction for any player. It’s brilliant – the stadiums, the pitches, the fans and how they live football over there – it’s all incredible over there”, he told Eurosport. Xavi however went on to mention his favorite club from England “I know that there are clubs who have emerged quite recently, like Manchester City for example, but United is my favourite historically-speaking.”

Premier league clubs would have welcome Xavi with open arms had he decided to make the move. And what Manchester United fans would give to have had him playing for them in one of the two finals they lost to Barcelona in 2009 and 2011.
