What’s Trending Africa!! #FEESHAVEFALLEN #GHETTOUNIVERSITYALBUM #FREEALADWA
SOUTH AFRICA – This week witnessed a spree of nationwide protests by South African students which climaxed outside the main government offices today.
The protests followed after Government proposed school fees increment for tertiary students by 11.5 percent in 2016, stating “they need the higher fees to keep up standards“.
South African President, Jacob Zuma, today, cancelled fee increase in South Africa’s tertiary institutions.
Never undermine the power of social media as these students took the hashtag #FeesMustFall to relay their protests if the matching protests wasn’t working, then social media would convey their delima to the world.
And as every leader who doesn’t want to look bad in the eyes of the international community, South African President, Jacob Zuma, today, addressed the issue by cancelling tertiary fee increase in South Africa.
The hashtag #FeesMustFall was later changed to #FeesHaveFallen after the President’s announcement that come 2016, there will be no increase in tertiary tuition fees.

KENYA – Yesterday, George Aladwa, former Nairobi mayor made some utterances at a public rally that according to some has been deemed offensive and inciting violence.
It is reported (proof via video) that while addressing Kibra youth on Mashujaa Day, he insinuated that for Raila to be president in 2017, few people must die. Raila Odinga is the son of the first vice-president of Kenya, Jaramogi Oginga Odinga.
The disclosure made supporters of Raila to call for Aladwa’s head on a platter and he was arrested at the Railways Club in Nairobi today and taken to Nairobi national police headquarters.
The hashtag yesterday which was #ArrestAladwa has changed to #FreeAladwa following news about his arrest today by the Nairobi Police.
The trend is coming from his supporters as they feel he has spoken their minds, and have take to twitter to call for his immediate release. The trend made its way to top trends in Africa today.
