Costa dropped from Spain squad
Diego Costa’s on-the-field antics and his poor run of form has seen him dropped from the Spain national team by head coach Vicente Del Bosque.
Costa will miss Spain’s qualifiers against Luxemborg and Ukraine, with strikers Alvaro Morata & Nolito to be called upon to replace the Chelsea forward.
Del Bosque is said to have been displeased with Costa’s display against Chelsea, which reportedly played a major part in why he was dropped.
“What he did was unedifying, and that is why he was punished. Of course, I didn’t like what he did,” Del Bosque was quoted as saying.
The Brazilian-born forward has also struggled on the field for Spain, scoring only once in 9 appearances for the team so far.
The full squad for the matches was announced by the Spain national team’s Twitter account.
