Novak Djokovic wins Shanghai Masters
World number one Novak Djokovic continued his impressive 2015 form at the Shanghai Masters, beating Jo-Wilfried Tsonga to win the title.
Djokovic beat Tsonga as easily as he had beaten Andy Murray in the semi-final, winning 6-2 6-4 against the Frenchman.
The win was Djokovic’s 5th of the 8 Masters 1000 tournaments that have been played this year, and his 9th title of 2015.
“Today the key was to get as many serves back into play to Jo because he has one of the biggest serves in the game,” Djokovic said.
“He showed that in the second set, with some break points early in the set. He came up with some aces, some big serves.”
“Generally I felt always in control of the match. I felt like I did everything right and I didn’t allow him to get into the rhythm, get into the match.”
Djokovic will now turn his attention to the last Masters 1000 tournament, the Paris Masters.
