New Rules From JAMB For All Admission Seekers

The general public and candidates seeking admission to tertiary institutions are hereby urged to abide by the new rules from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), The Punch reports. The examination body has modified its procedure for students seeking admission for the 2016-2017 academic session with the introduction of the “preferred choice” platform in its portal.

Nigerian Banks Set To Deactivate Unregistered Accounts As BVN Deadline Looms

Nigeria’s Apex Bank, CBN has ruled out any possibility of extending the deadline for Bank customers that are unable to obtain their bank verification numbers (BVNs) before the close of business today, Friday, October 30, 2015.

Teacher Flogs Student To Death In Oyo

Students of IMG Secondary School, Oke Ado, Ibadan, Oyo state capital on Wednesday, basked in the ambiance of uncontrollable rampage after one of their colleagues was allegedly flogged to death by a teacher. It was learnt that the student – unidentified yet – reportedly slumped and gave up the ghost as a result of the severe punishment from a teacher for arriving late to school.

Boko Haram Detainees Relocated Out Of Anambra Prison

About 47 suspected Boko Haram fighters have been transferred out of the Ekwulobia prison in Aguata local government area of Anambra state.  According to a very reliable source, the detainees have relocated from the state to the delight of the people residing near the prison yard who have been scared since the news came in that the detainees have been brought there.

A 53-year-old Man of God, has been arrested by the Police in Nsukka, Enugu State, for allegedly impregnating married women and young girls in his church. The alleged sexual exploits of Pastor Timothy Ngwu, who is the General Overseer of Holy Trinity Ministry popularly called Vineyard Ministry in Umudikwere Community in the University town, came to light by his estranged wife.

An Islamic cleric, has confessed that he killed a 32-year-old graduate of Business Administration, Olufunbi Lawal, who he owed N32,000. The suspect, Ali Mohammed, who owed Olufunbi N32,000, said he killed the deceased in order to evade paying the debt.
