England international and Leicester striker, Jamie Vardy is topping the goal scoring charts, but manager, Claudio Ranieri doesn’t think he should be compared with Neymar.
Vardy scored a brace as Leicester mounted a comeback to draw level at 2-2 against Southampton, taking his goal tally to 9 in nine matches.
Elsewhere, Neymar has eight goals from seven matches, but Ranieri thinks they can’t be compared just yet.
“It is too early to talk about Vardy along with Neymar,” Ranieri told reporters. “It is the first year he showed his attitude in the Premier League. If he can continue in this way it will be fantastic.”
Vardy, who has scored is six consecutive league matches, has been linked with a move away from the King Power Stadium in January due to his fantastic form but Ranieri has no intention of selling.
“We don’t sell Vardy,” he added. “He’s very happy here. Nobody goes in January, not him, not Riyad [Mahrez], not [Jeffrey] Schlupp. Me, the club and our fans need all our best players.”
