Real Madrid manager Rafael Benitez insists he “fought more than anyone” to keep Sergio Ramos at the club in the summer.
Sergio Ramos was subject of a £28.6m bid from Manchester United this summer and was rumored to be seriously considering quitting the Spanish giants .
But Ramos, 29, remained at the Bernabeu, and new boss Benitez says there are no problems between the player, manager or club.
He told Onda Cero radio: “I fought more than anyone for Ramos to stay. There are no problems between us. He’s our captain, an outstanding footballer and he has to keep showing that.”
