Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino felt his men dropped two points following the draw they played out against Monaco at the Stade Louis II.
Argentina international Erik Lamela put Tottenham in front, but El Shaarawy denied them a win when he headed in the equalizer in the 81st minute.
Tottenham were the better team and Pochettino is not happy he had to share the spoils with Leonardo Jardim.
“I think it’s two points dropped,” he told BT Sport. “It’s true in the first half it was difficult for us because Monaco created some chances and we scored. In the second half we dominated the game.
“I think we were unluky because the three points were for us but I am happy with the performance and the effort because we played against a team that has a lot of good players.
“It’s not easy to get the victory here but it’s true that the feeling is we lost two points”.
