UEFA president Michel Platini who was handed a 90-day ban following criminal investigation, has followed in the steps of Blatter, appealing against the suspension.
Platini, alongside Sepp Blatter and general secretary Jerome Valcke (who is yet to appeal) were all hit with 90-day ban. They all deny wrongdoing.
Platini is the Football Association’s favorite to replace Sepp Blatter at the head of FIFA, and the French FA wants the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) to intervene, so the UEFA chief can stand for election.
FIFA’s ethics committee opened its investigation when the Swiss Attorney General opened a criminal investigation against Blatter in September.
