2Pac’s handrwitten letter on sale
A handwritten letter by late rapper 2Pac Shakur is currently going for sale at an auction for $225,000 (N47.7 million).
The letter was written by the legendary rapper in 1995 to the editor of the Death Row Uncut magazine, Nina Bhadreshwar.
He wrote them when he was in jail on a sexual assault charge, and told Bhadreshwar that he wasn’t writing to any other publication, and told her to use the information as she saw fit.
“He enclosed a five-page essay on his view of the rite of passage of a young black male in America. And that was the beginning of our real correspondence,” Bhadreshwar said of the letter.
In the letters, 2Pac admitted that he wanted to leave the “Thug Life” and advance onto bigger things.
“[Many] never survive the next level of Thug Life…. They become addicted to death. A True Boss Playa knows when to advance…. U must play the game, not let the game play u,” Pac wrote.
