I think this is good news. Van Gaal has revealed there’s still a 50-50 chance Luke Shaw will be able to feature in the Euro 2016 for England.
Luke Shaw suffered a double leg fracture last month in the UCL loss to PSV and is set to be out for six months.
England qualified for the Euro 2016 with a perfect record, winning all 10 matches played, but Van Gaal is not eager to recommend Luke Shaw feature in the tournament in France.
“For now he is doing fantastic although we cannot say whether he will be fit for England next summer,” he said.
“Like Roy Hodgson says maybe it is 50-50 because it is possible, but it is dependable on the rehabilitation and you cannot say it now that he is going.
“Maybe there will be complications later, you never know. That happens a lot so we have to wait and see.”
Shaw has picked up six caps for England since making his international debut against Denmark in February 2014.
