Going straight to the point and not mincing words, Bayern Munich captain, Phillipp Lahm has said he wants Guardiola to stay on.
Lahm was part of the Guardiola team that won 4-0 against Koln and led the Bayern side to their 10th straight Bundesliga win.
And with the contract of the Spaniard nearing an end, speculations surround if the former Barcelona coach will be with the club next season.
But Lahm has revealed, that he and other Bayern players want Guardiola to continue at the helm of the club.
“The team’s opinion is clear. We enjoy working together with our coach and he is an outstanding manager,” he said.
“Everything else is not in our hands. The only thing I can say is that the team would like Guardiola to stay.”
Asked if he had told Guardiola, Lahm said: “Yes, I have.”
Guardiola has led Bayern to two league titles and multiple cups since taking charge in mid-2013.
